Season Opener: Thameside Claim Comfortable Victory Over Wargrave

Thameside CC opened their 2026 pre-season campaign with a convincing 45-run victory over near-neighbours Wargrave CC at The Pavilion Ground. Captain Edward Harrington led from the front with a stylish 72 from 84 balls, including nine fours and two sixes. All-rounder William Ashford contributed a brisk 34 lower down the order as Thameside posted 187 for 6 from their 40 overs. In reply, Wargrave were never truly in the chase. Fast bowler Henry Cartwright removed both openers cheaply, and George Thornton's tidy spin through the middle overs strangled the run rate. Wargrave were eventually bowled out for 142. A promising start to the season for the club.

Pavilion Refurbishment Complete

We are delighted to announce that the refurbishment of our historic pavilion is now complete. The work, which began last November, has modernised the changing rooms, kitchen, and bar areas while preserving the building's Victorian character. The pavilion was originally built in 1903 and is a Grade II listed structure. Heritage Lottery funding covered a significant portion of the restoration costs. Members and visitors will notice improved facilities while enjoying the same timeless atmosphere that has welcomed cricketers for over a century.
